This symposium will be a practicum in chairing meetings and committees. After a brief introduction by the co-chairs, participants will work in interactive groups with a facilitator on effective strategies for chairing, including encouraging and focusing discussion, establishing time limits and sticking to them, summarizing key discussion points, and coming to consensus. Facilitators for the interactive sessions will be recruited from the leadership of SfN. All members of SfN are welcome; faculty and postdoctoral students are especially encouraged to attend. Please see the Women in Neuroscience Web site for more information and to register for the event. CONTACT: Laurel Haak, PhD.
