ARNOLD A. GERALL
Arnold A. Gerall, Prof. Emeritus at Tulane, died December 11, 2013 at 86. He was best known as the conceptual lead on the seminal paper showing testicular hormones acting directly on the fetal brain to promote development of sex differences in behavior. He also demonstrated that early social experiences are key for the development of normal male sexual behavior. Gerall received the 2008 Lehrman Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor of the Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology.
