Donald Kent Morest

Donald Kent Morest, MD, Professor Emeritus, Department of Neuroscience, University of Connecticut Health Center, was a pioneer in the fields of auditory and developmental neuroscience. Kent was the father of modern auditory neuroanatomy, best known for combining the Golgi method with detailed ultrastructural analyses, and was also recognized for his novel insights into early neuronal migration and differentiation. He will be greatly missed by his former students and colleagues who admired his encyclopedic knowledge, quick wit, and exciting lectures peppered by his thought-provoking questions. He died on December 30, 2020, at the age of 86, in Arlington, MA.
