Italian Parliament Approves Animal Research Restrictions

Last month, the Italian parliament voted to introduce unprecedented restrictions on the use of animals in research. The far-reaching restrictions include a ban the use of animals in research involving addictive drugs and prohibit the use of non-human primates, dogs, and cats in research unless directly related to translational medicine or mandatory drug testing.
