2013 International Brain Bee Winner Announced
Jackson Huang from Queensland, Australia: Champion of the 2013 International Brain Bee
The Brain Bee is a neuroscience competition for secondary school students that aims to motivate them learn about the brain, capture their imaginations, and inspire them to pursue careers in biomedical research. Students compete locally, feeding into national and then international competition. Norbert Myslinski of the University of Maryland is the founder and president.
The 2013 International Brain Bee was held in Vienna, Austria from September 22 to 24. Julianne McCall of UniversitätsKlinikum Heidelberg organized the Bee, which was attended by students from a record 17 countries. After rigorous competition that spanned two days, Jackson Huang of Queensland, Australia was successful. He won a laboratory internship with a neuroscientist, sponsored by SfN.
