SfN’s Neuroscience Scholars Program wins ASAE’s Summit Award
The Society for Neuroscience received a 2014 Power of A Summit Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), in recognition of its Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP), which enhances career development for underrepresented and diverse graduate and postdoctoral trainees in neuroscience. The Summit Award recognizes the Society’s valuable contributions on the local, national, and global level and its ability to produce innovative, effective, and broad-reaching programs that advance the field, with specific attention paid to expanding diversity.
NSP fosters the careers of many successful neuroscience researchers by giving trainees networking and professional development opportunities as well as access to potential mentors. SfN’s long-standing fellowship attracts and supports underrepresented researchers entering the scientific career pipeline.
The Society for Neuroscience was one of only six organizations awarded the ASAE Summit Award, and will accept its award October 1 during the Annual Summit Awards Dinner in Washington, DC.
