Max Planck Institute geneticist Svante Pääbo was awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for his pioneer work sequencing the Neanderthal genome and giving rise to the field of paleogenomics. His research gives us the basis for exploring what makes us uniquely human.
Attendees at Neuroscience 2011 had the privilege to hear Pääbo deliver the David Kopf Lecture on Neuroethics. Congratulations Dr. Sääbo on winning the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
