Revisions to SfN’s Governing Documents Approved
Earlier this month, SfN held a membership vote on a proposed amendment to Article 5 of the Articles of Incorporation and revisions to the SfN Bylaws. The vote closed on Thursday, December 12, 5 p.m. EST, with more than 90% of the votes in support of these changes. The SfN Council is now empowered to adapt SfN’s membership structure to better reflect changes in the field.
The revisions to the Bylaws are effective immediately and have been updated on SfN.org. The amendment to the Articles of Incorporation will be filed with the government of Washington, D.C.
Since its founding in 1969, SfN has relied on the guidance of its membership, and the SfN Council thanks everyone for their participation in this important vote. These approved changes position the Society to continue to be the premier society serving the field of neuroscience.
