Tribute Gifts
Commemorate the life of a neuroscientist, colleague, or loved one.
The Friends of SfN Fund accepts donations in memory of or in honor of colleagues and loved ones. The name of the honored individual, as well as the names of donors, are recognized in SfN materials, including on the SfN website, in the annual meeting Program and Exhibit Guide, and in signage at the annual meeting (when received by June 30 each year).
If you wish to invite donations from others in memory of a recently passed individual, you may include specific wording in the obituary notice, such as, "The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Society for Neuroscience in Washington, DC. Donations can be made at https://www.sfn.org/support-sfn or mailed to 1121 14th St. NW, Suite 1010, Washington, DC 20005.”
Establishing a Legacy
With a minimum contribution, families may establish a fund to endow annual Trainee Professional Development Awards named in memory of a colleague or loved one.
